Comments on Mayor Realtor

There were two comments posted this morning on the Wilkes-Barre Taxpayers Blog. Does anyone have any actual information on this comments? They are copied below.

Comment 1:
"Next council meeting ask council and the mayor how they purchased $60,000.00 worth of vehicles from a subsidary of a landfill owner from lackawanna county without bidding the contract. "

Comment 2:
"Oh yea, I forgot! There may also be a local contractor repairing catch basins in W-B for the entire term of the present administration. I hope they were bid. I beieve that piece mealing a project to avoid bidding requirements is a violation of state law. Oh! I am sorry, I forgot that Mayor Realtor has the same policy as Pres. G.W., if you don't agree with him you are anti-W-B or anti-american. It would also be a shame if a top administrator appointed by Mayor Realtor was a former employee of this company. "

If there is some truth to these comment, we the Taxpayers should know all the TRUTH!!!!

I will comment on Comment #2....The company the writer is talking about is Franchelli Enterprise and if you check the Web Page for them, one of the owners is names Attilio Frati...this is the same guy who is the Director of Planning for the Mayor ....If you check the City Charter, this job requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Municipal Government Director...I dont think he has this qualification...but he is the next door neighbor of Ann Bergold and Marc Cour...the author of Wilkes Barre Online ....that is all he needs to get the job ....But I must say...that Butch does a great job despite the political connection...and is a real good guy as well...don't know why he is selling his soul to the devils in City Hall....

Just a quick note to say that the Mayor is going to get permission from City Council on Thursday Night for approval to get a Tax Anticipation Note for 5 Million Dollars for the purpose of the Inter Model Center and to buy more things for the City Hall...What about the Firemen, Tom Leighton, and a Firehouse for the residents of the Heights, also he is going to purchase two properties from Summit Realty for a property on Blackman st for 1.00...seems like this City Council is giving away the farm to this Mayor for his own agenda....where was the money for the firehouse...how about the back taxes on these properties....Have they been forgiven or is the taxpayers responsible again...I will be there on Thursday Night to ask these questions ....

Leighton failed miserably on how he handeled the recent rain storm. Much of the blame is on him. Contrary to what his neighbor the Fire Chief said the leaves have been off the trees for TWO WEEKS. They have been on the street. No street sweepers have been in my neighboorhood for months. The former Mayor understood what leaves can do to a storm drain. In the fall we regularly saw a truck with a big broom on the front to get the leaves off the street so we sould not have 5 million dollards damage to out city. MAYOR, CLEAN UP OUR NEIGHBOORHOODS instead of being in the real estate business.
